CQ Kaliningrad / Bergen (2009)
Live radio transmission at Chernyakhovsk / Insterburg Castle, Kaliningrad region, Russia.

In this performance, radio amateurs were engaged in a two-way communication between two faraway locations; Insterburg Castle in Cherniakovsk, Kaliningrad, and The Bergen Kringkaster - a former Norwegian Broadcasting Station just outside Bergen, Norway.

The connection failed, but the audience could still experience the act of radio communication in situ through radio operator Vasiliy Vasilevich in Kaliningrad, searching the waves for his colleague Øystein Ask in Bergen, as well as gaining an insight into the world of radio that had been the major part of life and profession of the 92 year old radio operator, and listen to the radio signals bouncing back from his radio receiver.

The communication from Insterburg Castle was operated live by the renowned radio operator Vasiliy Vasilevich through his custom-built radio equipment.
